The Top New Andorid Games of the Week â€" February 11, 2013

This week’s picks for the top new Android games of the week include a stic kman out for vengeance, a western themed shooter, and a building game featuring a popular cartoon family. There were some great games put out last week and we tried to include a little something for everyone. Without further ado we proudly present our picks for the top new android games of the past week.

1. Shapes & Sounds: The Shape Shooter

The Shape Shooter is a new Android game from Arrg Studios that tests your reflexes against an onslaught of shapes. The gameplay has a rock-paper-scissors element to it, and needless to say it’s a whole lotta’ fun. You can read more about the game here or pick it up for $ 0.99 on Google Play.

2. The Simpsons Tapped Out

The Simpson family finally made their way to Android last week with EA’s The Simpsons Tapped Out. It’s a city building game that lets you build Springfield from scratch after Homer accidentally destroys Springfield. It’s hands down the best building game I’ve played even with the IAP setup, and it’s a must have for any Simpsons fan. You can pick up The Simpsons Tapped Out for free on Google Play.

3. Clear Vision 2

Clear Vision 2 is the follow-up to DPFlashes Studios Clear Vision 17+ which was released last year. It’s a stickfigure sniper game with a storyline, and it’s guaranteed to be unlike any sniper game you’ve likely played. Unless you’ve played Clear Vision 17+ that is, then you already know how awesome part deux will be. There’s a free version of the game you can check out, and the full version will only set you back $ 1.99.

4. Sydar Arcade HD

If you enjoy space shooters Syder Arcade HD is a game you’ll want to pay attention to. It’s got an old-school feel and plays like the space shooters of the 90s, just be prepared to die a lot as it’s a tough little game that’s sure to test your wits. No free version is available at this time, but you can pick up the full version of Studio Evil’s Syder Arcade HD for $ 0.99.

5. Vector

If you love endless running games Nekki’s Vector is a game you’re going to want to look into. It’s an endless runner with a twist, the twist being the fact that your runner is a master of Parkour and you’ll need your athletic skills if you want to escape from the man. It’s a nice take on the running genre, and it’s free to download on Google Play.

6. Oddworld

Oddworld is a western themed RPG/Shooter that lets you take down bag bad guys in a post-apocalyptic future. The game has a unique style and it’s definitely one of the more interesting shooter’s we’ve seen lately. You can read a bit more about Oddworld here or pick it up for free on Google Play.

7. Questlord

Looking for a Retro RPG? Questlord is all that and more and it’s about as old-school as it gets as you can see from the screen shot. The game offers up over 160 maps to explore including dungeons, the wilderness and cities. It’s one of the cooler turn-based RPG’s we’ve seen and it’s a steal at only $ 1.99.

8. The Twist

The Twist is a quirky little game that’s all about facial hair… well just mustaches as a game about goatees wouldn’t be that grand. It’s a coin collecting game that has you snag coins by stretching out your marvelous mustache and it’s just as quirky as it sounds. There’s a free version you can check out and if you like what you see you can pick up the full version of The Twist for $ 0.99.

9. Die for Metal

If you’ve been longing for a game involving a pagan metal Viking… today’s your lucky day. Die for Metal is the latest from Sinsquid Games their first game was and endless metal runner while this one is a metal-based 2D platformer. I haven’t had a chance to check it out yet, but if it’s half as cool as Black Metal Man you’re in for a good time. It may not be a game for everyone, but it’s well worth a look. You can pick up Die for Metal for $ 1.10 on Google Play.
